Leerdoelen
- Understand why and how to connect with key people within the organization
- Present yourself effectively with a clear and targeted pitch (using the STAR method)
- Research what is relevant and important in the company, the role and for the hiring manager
- Learn strategies to increase your chances of being invited to the next selection phase
Job ads come with so many bullet points that we get lost about what is really the most important for the vacancy we are applying for. Then, during interviews, we end up giving endless examples of our career path, not sounding like the best fit for the job. We might even sound overqualified.
What to expect from this workshop
This workshop is a hands-on exercise based on 3 steps:
Step 1: Call the employer in advance
Why and how should you call the employer before your job interview? This first step helps you stand out from the start.
Step 2: Gather your key elements
Collect the essential information you need to build your most effective pitch.
Step 3: Impress with STAR
By using the STAR method, train to speak in a persuasive and confident way, targeting what is most important and relevant for the job and the company. This way you will have a higher chance of getting picked!

As a part of the JobOn team, I aim to help people with their career opportunities. I just arrived in the Netherlands so I am also in this adventure to find a job locally, while I keep on being a digital nomad in the meantime. It is exciting to use my experience volunteering and helping others in the same situation.
